Position Summary:
Barts Electric is seeking a Systems Administrator / Microsoft 365 Engineer to support and optimize our Microsoft 365 environment across both office and field operations. This role will lead administration of SharePoint Online governance, Intune device management, Entra ID identity controls, and automation initiatives that support a growing multi-state electrical construction workforce. This position plays a key role in strengthening collaboration, improving onboarding and device provisioning workflows, securing access to company systems, and supporting scalable infrastructure that enables our teams to succeed in the field and the office. The role also contributes to documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring junior IT staff as part of a collaborative IT team environment aligned with Barts Electric's mission of building people.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and optimize the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related collaboration platforms Lead SharePoint Online governance initiatives, including site architecture, permissions structure, lifecycle policies, and secure access across departments and project teams Develop and maintain Intune policies supporting device compliance, application deployment, Autopilot provisioning, and configuration baselines for both office and field users Support device provisioning workflows for new employees, including electricians deploying to active jobsites across multiple states Administer Entra ID identity services, including conditional access policies, MFA configuration, SSO integrations, and identity lifecycle governance Partner with HR and operations teams to support secure onboarding and offboarding automation tied to workforce changes Automate administrative processes using PowerShell, including user provisioning, license assignment, reporting, and permissions cleanup Support integration and coordination across enterprise systems such as HRIS, payroll, project management, and learning platforms Mentor junior IT staff in Microsoft 365 administration, SharePoint support, and device management best practices Develop documentation, runbooks, and training resources that improve consistency and reduce reliance on single points of knowledge Support hybrid infrastructure as needed, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server environments Participate in backup and disaster recovery planning and validation processes Assist with infrastructure improvements, migrations, and modernization initiatives across cloud and on-premises platforms
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of systems administration experience with strong emphasis on Microsoft 365 environments Demonstrated experience administering SharePoint Online permissions, governance models, and site architecture at scale Hands-on experience managing Intune policies, device enrollment automation, compliance controls, and application deployment Experience administering Entra ID, including conditional access policies and identity lifecycle management Strong PowerShell scripting experience for automation and reporting tasks Familiarity with hybrid environments including Active Directory, Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Experience supporting distributed workforces across multiple locations or jobsites preferred Understanding of identity security and least-privilege access principles Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to support both technical and nontechnical users Professional, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-moving construction environment
