Job Description

The System Administrator will advance the capabilities of the Commander Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC) by providing maintenance support for software and operational systems. CNMOC is located at NASA's Stennis Space Center and the work would be performed in CNMOC's spaces. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the proper function of Linux servers on a classified network. The Administrator will work with other administrators to secure and maintain systems, with software developers to incorporate custom software onto operational networks, and with network users to troubleshoot issues.
Job Duties:
Linux OS operation and administration including cron deployments, software installations, file system maintenance, user/group administration Perform troubleshooting as issues are reported through formal trouble ticketing Maintain and upgrade operating systems; Perform installations and patches of operating system(s) Perform installations and patches of custom developed software modules Maintain a virtualized environment with high availability Coordinate with network administrators to optimize system performance The contractor shall conduct system administration tasks following DoD, DoN, and
NAVOCEANO
policies, processes and guidelines
Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant technical field 2+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator performing patching and configuring systems 3 years of experience as systems administrator or software developer Strong communication skills Active Secret Clearance Additional consideration for: CompTIA Security+ certification CompTIA Linux+ certification Experience with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL and Oracle Experience with VMWare products (VSphere, ESXi) to perform basic administration of systems Experience with mass storage systems (NetApp) Experience administering user accounts and permissions in both Linux and Windows environments (LDAP) Experience with Server administration to include troubleshooting of a system and routing system patching Understanding of the DoW STIG application process Understanding of the DoW Risk Management Framework (RMF) Experience with ESRI Products like ESRI Enterprise and ESRI Portal Radiance Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
