Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Systems Specialist Functional Area Position Purpose The Quality Systems Specialist serves as a representative of Reco NC's Quality Management System (QMS) to external certifying bodies, customers, suppliers, and internal personnel. This role supports QMS compliance, internal auditing, corrective actions, quality metrics reporting, and continuous improvement activities to ensure products and processes meet established quality standards. Position Level Support Department Quality Span of Control Indirect (no direct reports) Direct Reporting Line Quality Manager Acts as a Substitute for Quality Technician or Quality Engineer roles as assigned Substituted by Designated Quality Team Member External Relations Customers, suppliers, auditors, external certifiers Scope of Responsibilities and Duties Measure and report customer satisfaction and identify areas of concern. Respond to customer concerns in alignment with management to ensure consistent, unified communication. Assist in maintaining QMS certifications by supporting compliance activities and responding to audit findings. Represent the company during external audits when required. Participate as a member of the internal audit team selected from various departments. Compile audit reports and document corrective actions arising from findings. Participate in the RMA process and support timely closure and customer communication. Provide customers with failure analysis reports in collaboration with Engineering. Participate in MRB (Material Review Board) activities and ensure timely disposition of material. Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify root causes of defects and support corrective action development. Document and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions. Use data from multiple test and inspection points to generate yield and first-pass yield metrics by work order, department, and overall, on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Conduct detailed analyses to identify systemic issues with products, processes, personnel, or equipment. Report quality trends and work proactively to resolve negative trends. Work with Engineering to ensure suppliers receive adequate information, including customer flow‑downs. Collaborate with Purchasing and Materials to eliminate defective materials and provide supplier feedback. Work with production to ensure products are built to required quality standards. Identify potential deviations from quality requirements and conduct periodic inspections for compliance. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements and Competencies Education Associate degree in a STEM field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience At least one year of experience in Quality Assurance or a technical role in a manufacturing environment preferred. Technical Competencies Documented training in quality systems aligned with ISO9001 or AS9100 preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to use quality tools and interpret quality data. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Leadership Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments. Detail‑oriented with strong documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Scope of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Operational / Team KPIs (measuring process efficiency, timeliness, quality, and collaboration) Accuracy and timeliness of quality metrics and reporting Internal and external audit performance Corrective action closure rate and effectiveness RMA turnaround time and reduction of repeat issues Supplier non‑conformance reduction Yield and first‑pass yield improvements
