Position Overview The Referrals Supervisor oversee the daily operations of the referral staff and referral process in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Referral Supervisor serves as a point of contact with specialty offices and healthcare systems for the coordination of referrals.
THIS POSITION OFFERS A 40-HOUR WORK WEEK, NO WEEKENDS, FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE, 12 PAID HOLIDAYS, BI-WEEKLY PAY.
Essential Tasks Provides supervision to the Referrals Associates. This includes but is not limited to interviewing, hiring, providing training and orientation, distribution and determination of responsibilities, and the on-going evaluation of the staffs' performance. Serves as the in-house expert and point of contact regarding the electronic health record system referral platform and other healthcare networks' systems for coordinating specialty and imaging referrals. Troubleshoots system issues or errors and manages staff's access to these systems. Conduct periodic audits to assess the timeliness of the authorization of referrals, quality of documentation, and adherence to established workflows. Report monthly on staff's productivity, program goals, staffing issues, and other challenges or successes. Address deficiencies through staff training, process development, and/or corrective action. Experience and Education High school diploma or GED. Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Medical Office Administration, preferred. One-year experience as a supervisor or three years work experience in referrals or office experience. Must be computer literate. Attentive to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills. Schedule Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8 am - 5 pm Day shift Physical Requirements Potential sitting or standing for long periods of time, occasional bending, stooping, lifting including of patients, reaching forward and overhead. Proper lifting techniques required. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day. Frequent computer work required. Base Pay Overview The starting pay for this position is $17.00 hourly.
