JOB SUMMARY
To assist the Director of Nutrition Services in implementing USDA regulations for the National School Lunch, Breakfast and Summer Feeding Programs in Westside Community Schools and Contract Schools. Provide support to nutrition service staff and assist with Contract Meal administration, organization, and food preparation and distribution. To communicate with district households on various programs and programming, such as but not limited to Free and reduced meals, Summer Meals and the National School Lunch Program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with the Director and staff of Westside Nutritional Services to follow and implement rules and regulations set forth by the USDA for the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, as well as Summer Feeding Support Program(SFSP) and Child and Adult Care Food Program(CACFP). Financial Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Nutrition Services bank statement reconciliation Contract Meal Services billing Account ReceivablE Internal and External audits Miscellaneous billing Processing and documenting all student refunds Catering taxes Free/Reduced Meal Program Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Processing all F/R meal benefit forms Designing new F/R form each year, per state requirements Managing all aspects of the verification program Site reviews Managing myschoolbucks.com program, including parent support Calculating and submitting all reimbursements Managing Direct Certification files from the state Keeping current on government regulations that relate to Nutrition Services Computer Technology Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Training NS staff on new/improved software Training building secretaries on new/improved software Training cashiers Troubleshooting computer issues Making minor repairs and managing major repairs Keeping current on changes to POS operating system Working with the Technology Department on updates/changes/departmental needs Installing and maintaining new computers/systems Data Analysis Responsibilities include but are not limited to: All system End of Year processes Compiling and analyzing data from F/R program Tracking and reporting trends Maintaining historical data and analyses Other Duties include but are not limited to: Available to attend training and continuing education seminars, food shows and additional conferences Assist in the hiring, ongoing administration and documentation of Nutrition Services employees Liaison to vendors as needed. Assist with the training of nutrition services employees as needed Prepares and maintains documents for NDE coordinated and other reviews, as needed Other duties as assigned Compliance with Board policies, District rules, regulations and practices, and applicable laws
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum two year associates or like certification (Experience equivalent accepted.) Two years of supervisory or managerial experience Strong communication skills Ability to professionally and productively take and give direction Knowledge and ability of cleaning kitchen and preparation of food Current certificate for Managers' Servsafe. If not, current must attain certification within the first 6 months of employment. District to pay class tuition and test fees applicable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products and other software as needed Minimum 4 year experience in a food service environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and understanding of the Federal School Breakfast and Lunch Program requirements and regulations including: Offer vs. Serve Qualifications for a reimbursable meal Knowledge of portion sizes and proper kitchen procedures Experience with applications, reimbursement processes, etc., with the USDA and NDE NS programs
