As a Lead Site Specialist within Unity Lab Services, you will provide leadership and hands-on support for lab service, supply chain, and inventory operations in a GMP laboratory environment. You will act as a key liaison between customers, sales, logistics, suppliers, and management, ensuring operational excellence, strong customer relationships, and efficient service delivery. This role combines leadership, coordination, and technical support in a fast-paced laboratory and warehouse setting. Key Responsibilities Team Coordination & Leadership Provide work direction and perform duties of Sr. Site Specialist, Site Specialist, or Site Service Technician Monitor workflow to optimize staffing and customer service levels Provide functional supervision and site coverage as needed Assist with cross-training team members and onboarding new hires Support team performance and maintain efficiency standards for Managed Services Inventory Management & Material Support Manage material ordering and reconciliation using min/max and Kanban systems Ensure FEFO (First Expire, First Out) compliance Perform counts on cleaning agents and maintain planning and metric trackers Contribute data related to: emergency material requests, safety incidents, work orders, gowning shortages, planned and unplanned transfers into clean suites Handle raw materials, cleaning reagents, gowning supplies, and consumables Sanitize all materials transferred into cleanrooms Ensure availability of required PPE and materials for GMP cleaners, manufacturing teams, and training labs Communication & Cross-Functional Support Provide daily shift updates and communicate operational issues Participate in Manufacturing and MTS morning/afternoon huddles Act as liaison across customer, internal teams, and external partners Provide dock support when required Rotate to other sites for cross-training as needed Additional Duties Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management Environment Laboratory and warehouse setting Exposure to fluctuating temperatures (hot/cold) Cold rooms/freezers (-22°F / -6°C) Regular use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, gowning, ear plugs) Exposure to chemical-based allergens (e.g., penicillin, tetracycline) Ability to lift 30-40 lbs. consistently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally Use of equipment such as pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts Prolonged standing and walking required Overtime may be required Qualifications Education Associate degree in a related field Experience 3+ years of progressive, proven experience Experience in GMP (cGMP) and laboratory environments Experience with aseptic techniques Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work independently and support team efforts Capable of acting as backup for supervisory responsibilities Experience training peers and serving as a subject-matter expert Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams Familiarity with operational metrics and performance tracking Strong time management and prioritization skills Leadership and interpersonal skills to support team culture Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality and company values Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Why Thermo Fisher Competitive pay and annual incentive plan bonus Comprehensive healthcare and employee benefits Innovative, forward-thinking organization with strong career growth opportunities Culture built on integrity, intensity, involvement, and innovation Meaningful work that supports global scientific and healthcare advancements EEO & Accessibility Thermo Fisher Scientific is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
