Role :
AWS Databricks Platform Administrator Location:
Raritan, NJ (Onsite)
Role Summary:
Seeking an experienced AWS Databricks Platform Administrator (5+ years) to manage, secure, automate, and optimize Databricks environments for enterprise-scale data engineering, analytics, and governance. Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, IAM, Unity Catalog, cost optimization, monitoring, and production support is essential .
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and manage Databricks workspaces in AWS. Configure secure access to S3 data using IAM roles, instance profiles, and trust policies. Implement and manage
Unity Catalog:
catalogs, schemas, tables, storage credentials, external locations. Define/enforce cluster policies, access controls, and workspace standards for security and compliance. Monitor clusters, usage trends, and platform health; optimize costs via autoscaling, tagging, and policies. Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform and scripting (Python, Shell, Bash).
Troubleshoot production issues:
clusters, permissions, storage, networking, jobs. Collaborate with data engineering, security, cloud infrastructure, and support teams. Support releases, upgrades, new feature enablement, and platform best practices. Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5-7 years in IT with hands-on AWS Databricks administration.
Strong knowledge of AWS services:
IAM, S3, EC2, VPC, CloudWatch, and security controls. Unity Catalog and enterprise data governance experience. Cluster management, workspace administration, job monitoring, access management. Terraform/IaC and scripting (Python, Shell, Bash). CICD, release management, production support, cost optimization. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
