SPECIALIST, GS-0671-9, you will perform the following duties: (1) Responsible for oversight, administrion, and implemention of policies pertaining to ste medical affairs, and exercise of programs such as: Line Of Duty (LOD) Investigion Program, Incapacition Pay Program, Active Duty Medical Extension (ADME) Program, MOS Medical Review Board (MMRB) Program, Medical Disqualificion Program, Follow up Health Care Program, Medical Claims Processing Program, Medical Travel and Orders Program, Medical Evaluion Board (MEB), Physical Evaluion Board (PEB), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Screening Program, Immunizion Program, routine and special physical examinions and waivers, Weight Control Program, and Over-40 Medical Screening Program. (2) Coordines with the Nional Guard Bureau (NGB), the Military Medical Support Office (MMSO), Tri-Care, U.S. Total Army Personnel Command (PERSCOM), Regional Medical Command, the Military Trement Facilities, and the Medical Evaluion Board (MEB), and Physical Evaluion Board (PEB) Liaison Offices loced within the ste. (3) Serves as the principle advisor to the Chief of the MILPO, as well as to general officer commanders, and personnel on eligibility for health care, sources of health care, medical aspects of physical readiness training and testing, Active Duty Medical Extensions, and LOD investigions. Collects, analyzes and provides stistical reports to the MILPO Chief and the Commanders of the Major Army Commands (MACOMs) within the ste regarding the health services programs. As required, organizes, coordines, and provides health services briefings and training for the unit readiness workshops, Active Guard Reserves workshops, and the Commanders Course. (4) Manages the funds associed with the health services account and provides an accounting for expenditures as required. (5) Responds to inquires and various correspondence on health services issues and maintains an action file on all responses. Observes privacy requirements on the release of medical informion concerning individual military members. (6) Coordines, assembles, monitors and ensures the proper conduct of the Incapacition Pay Review Board and the MOS Military Review Board. As required, is a participant on review boards. (7) Reviews, evalues, and interprets regulory guidance, policies, and procedures applicable to the health services programs. Provides guidance to all users through the development of policies, procedures, standard opering procedures (SOPs), electronic tracking systems, and disseminion of informion reled to the health services programs. Publishes guidance to enhance and simplify completion and submission of health service reled actions. (8) Provides supervision of subordine staff through the planning, assignment, and review of work; granting of leave; providing recommendion on training requirements, performance standards, and rings; and effecting minor disciplinary actions such as warnings and reprimands. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. QualificionsGENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Work th required a knowledge of the basic principles and practices reled to the management of a health care delivery system. Such experience may have been gained as an administrive officer, management analyst, or administrive or clinical program manager or supervisor in a health care delivery system.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Progressively responsible analytical or administrive, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an opering health care facility or a higher organizional echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relionship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordinion of administrive, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizions, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulions and standards of various regulory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrive areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement. Educion Substitution of Educion for Specialized Experience- Undergradue or Gradue Educion Major study in hospital administrion, public health administrion, or reled fields such as business or public administrion with course work in health care administrion.
