Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity with the leading IT Company in Mercer County. We are seeking a competent Network Administrator to join our team. The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the network infrastructure across multiple client environments. This role ensures stable, secure, and reliable network operations by managing firewalls, switches, wireless systems, VPNs, and related technologies. The Network Administrator handles escalated technical issues, contributes to project work, and performs proactive maintenance to prevent downtime and improve overall network health. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, consistent communication, and the ability to work independently while supporting the broader service team. The Network Administrator plays a key role in delivering a dependable, high quality client experience within a fast paced MSP environment. Description Network Administrator Responsibilities Manage, monitor, and maintain client network environments including switches, firewalls, routers, wireless systems, and VPN's Perform routine network maintenance such as firmware updates, patching, configuration reviews, and hardware lifecycle management Ensure all network devices follow security best practices and company standards Participate in or lead network‑focused projects such as firewall deployments, wireless upgrades, network redesigns, and hardware refreshes. Assist with onboarding new clients by performing network discovery, documentation, and standardization. Configure and deploy network equipment according to internal standards and best practices. Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, device inventories, IP schemas, and configuration documentation. Follow change-management procedures for all network modifications. Contribute to the development and refinement of network standards, templates, and processes. Provide professional, clear communication with clients regarding issues, timelines, and expectations. Collaborate with the service desk and project teams to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent support. Maintain ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely follow-through. Implement and maintain network security measures including firewall policies, VPN configurations, segmentation, and access controls. Assist with security audits, compliance requirements, and remediation efforts. Monitor for vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies. Protects the integrity and confidentiality of all company and client data and information. Efficiently & productively perform other related duties and/or miscellaneous projects as required or assigned Stay up to date on emerging technologies through IT publications and online resources Participate in on-call rotation Network Administrator Requirement 3-5 years of experience in network administration, preferably within an MSP environment Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCIP/IP, VLANS, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP). Hands-on experience with firewalls (SonicWall, Fortinet, WatchGuard, or similar). Experience with wireless systems, VPN Technologies, and network segmentation. Familiarity with RMM/PSA Tools and ticketing workflows. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Ability to take ownership of tasks and maintain momentum without supervision. Must be security minded and understand the security impact of changes or potential changes Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing requirements and schedules, including occasional evening/weekend work as job duties require Excellent customer service, interpersonal and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and ability to drive to customer locations
Preferred :
Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and cloud networking concepts Experience supporting multi-site environments Familiarity with backup, security, and monitoring solutions used in MSP operations.

Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
