Description of Work Salary Range:

We currently have an opening for an M365 & Power Platform Specialist Help the North Carolina Department of Transportation build the next generation of collaboration and automation tools! Our candidate will be building with Microsoft Power Platform - building complex workflow collaboration tools within SharePoint, M365, Copilot Studio, Power Apps, and Teams. Also, they'll help modernize and move forward the NCDOT and NCDMV! The primary responsibility of the M365 Power Platform and SharePoint Specialist is to support the DIT-T Web Systems UI Design Unit as a dedicated automation and workflow developer, building complex collaboration tools and applications, performing requirements and testing analysis, and mentoring junior developers on smaller work efforts. This position will lead projects with NCDOT stakeholders, external vendors, and internal NCDIT-Transportation teams to facilitate and deliver amazing collaboration and automation solutions for the NCDOT customer base.
Our ideal candidate:
- Leverages expertise in building and leading projects for Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Teams, and SharePoint, while using Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and sometimes on-premises SharePoint sites
- Brings expert-level know how with Power Platform environments, including user management, solutions, Dataverse and pipeline configuration
- Brings knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform including Exchange, Entra, and the Azure ecosystem.
- Is a subject matter expert with SharePoint as a platform, specifically sites, permissions, Content Types, Site Columns, Lists, Libraries, metadata, column types, and validation and how to use these within workflow driven solutions with Microsoft Power Automate
- Prioritizes a great user experience, whether in chatbots, apps, or automations About the
Division:
The Web Systems unit directs all Internet/Intranet based application development, reports, server/system architecture, and web system maintenance for the NCDOT infrastructure. The Web Systems unit employs management, architects, application developers, web designers and subject matter experts to meet the growing business and technological needs of NCDOT departments and external users. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
- Experience developing and building large Microsoft 365 and Power Platform development projects. This includes utilizing architectural knowledge of cloud-hosted platforms like SharePoint forms, sites, permissions, Content Types, Site Columns, Lists, Libraries, metadata, column types, and validation, and how to use these within workflow-driven solutions
- Demonstrated abilities in supporting and building with the Microsoft 365 toolset (for example by utilizing Microsoft Teams, SharePoint (online and on-premise), Planner, OneDrive, Outlook, and/or associated Azure tools)
