IT Systems Administrator 2.1 & 2.2 - ( 26141442 ) The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for an IT Systems Administrator. This position manages endpoint hardware and software throughout MDT. Responsibilities include researching, evaluating, configuring, deploying, maintaining, and disposing of endpoints, printers, and other computer related hardware. This position also tracks existing software installs and licenses, creates automated deployment tasks, and monitors systems used for automated deployment. Provides support to employees in the main Helena office and in MDT offices across the state. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities. Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field such as networking.
- 4 years of additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Level 2.1 - $39.27/hour: 2 years of related experience. Level 2.2 - $40.88/hour: 4 years of related experience. Alternative combinations of related experience or education may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience with the Windows and Linux Operating systems.
- Proficiency in the mid-tier server environment.
- Familiarity with virtual machine technologies and server configuration automation technologies.
