Washington County's Information Technology Services Department is seeking an IT Systems Administrator II to join the Systems Administration Team. The IT Systems Administrator II serves as a mid-level technical professional on the Systems Administration team, responsible for supporting and maintaining both on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure systems. This role focuses on managing virtual environments, administering Office 365 resources, and ensuring secure identity and access management through Azure Entra ID. The position also includes oversight of VMware virtualization platforms and SAN storage systems, along with troubleshooting and resolving incidents in accordance with ITIL-based processes. The IT Systems Administrator II contributes to system stability, security, and performance by performing proactive monitoring, implementing configuration changes, and supporting disaster recovery and business continuity efforts. In addition to technical expertise, this role requires strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with team members, vendors, and business stakeholders, ensuring solutions align with organizational standards and deliver exceptional customer service. The Systems Administration Team works under the direction of the Infrastructure & Operations Division. The Systems Administration Team is a group of technical professionals providing strategic direction, best practice technology management, and daily operational support to servers, storage, disaster recovery, and account management. A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business administration, or related field; AND two (2) years of experience providing professional level information technology analysis and support; OR An Associate's Degree in computer science, business administration, or related field; AND four (4) years of experience providing professional level information technology analysis and support; OR Six (6) years of experience providing professional level technology analysis and support. Any of the following certifications may substitute for one (1) year of required education. Two or more certifications may substitute for up to two (2) years of the education requirement. MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) Junos (Juniper) network certifications CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) NEC enterprise voice solutions certifications VOiP related system engineering certifications for other major manufacturers AVST Voice mail system certifications Certified Computer Information Security Professional Checkpoint EMC storage solutions Other certifications from major enterprise network solutions providers Additional Requirements Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
