Job Description
We are seeking a Network Administrator to join our IT team. This position reports directly to Network Admin Lead, and is responsible for handling basic network troubleshooting, monitoring network performance, and supporting the day-to-day operation of the organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to grow technical expertise in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Perform basic network troubleshooting for connectivity, latency, and performance issues across LAN, WAN, and wireless environments. Respond to and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 network support tickets within established SLAs. Monitor network performance using established tools and escalate complex issues to the Network Admin Lead. Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. Support end users with network access issues, including VPN, Wi-Fi, and authentication problems. Document network changes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing and knowledge base systems. Conduct routine checks on network hardware and report any anomalies or required maintenance. Assist with patching, firmware updates, and basic security tasks under the direction of senior staff. Participate in an on-call rotation as needed for after-hours support. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a network support or IT helpdesk role. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and basic routing/switching concepts. Familiarity with common network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, Wireshark). Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users. Ability to work independently on routine tasks while collaborating with the broader network team. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related technical field. Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent. Experience with enterprise network vendors. Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash). Work Environment Primarily on-site with occasional remote work flexibility. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) and after-hours work may be required to support maintenance windows or incident response.
