Job Description
Our client is seeking a mid-level Network Administrator . This role blends network administration and engineering , with a strong emphasis on being customer-facing . You'll work directly with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, translate them into technical solutions, and support hands-on network infrastructure initiatives across multiple sites. 1 week/month (minimal call volume)Travel:
~50-60% between nearby plants (all within ~45 minutes) Locations include Plymouth, St. Cloud, Kiel, Hilbert, and Elkhart Lake Mileage reimbursement provided (outside normal commute) Key Responsibilities Provide Tier 2 network support , troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN/WLAN, voice, and connectivity issues Administer and maintain Cisco network infrastructure (routers, switches, wireless) Partner with engineering and facilities teams to design and build MDF/IDF telecom rooms Coordinate structured cabling (fiber & copper) projects including installation, testing, labeling, and documentation Support network deployments and cutovers for plant and office environments Assist with wireless deployments , including site surveys and performance validation in manufacturing settings Deploy and support paging systems and collaborate with AV vendors Manage telephony systems (Cisco CUCM, Microsoft Teams Phone) Maintain accurate documentation and follow change management processes Participate in on-call rotation and ongoing infrastructure support Required Qualifications 3+ years of network administration and deployment experience Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs) Experience with Cisco technologies (Catalyst, Nexus, CUCM) Ability to read engineering/facility drawings and translate into network plans Working knowledge of structured cabling standards (fiber & copper) Experience coordinating MDF/IDF buildouts and vendor-led installations Familiarity with wireless site survey tools (Ekahau or similar) Experience supporting telephony systems (Cisco or Teams Voice) Exposure to industrial/OT networking environments is a plus Strong troubleshooting, communication, and vendor coordination skills Nice-to-Have Experience Paging system design/implementation in manufacturing environments Understanding of PLC environments, AGVs/AMRs, or OT segmentation (Level 2/3) Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP What Makes This Role Unique High visibility with business stakeholders— not just a back-end role Mix of hands-on engineering and strategic collaboration Opportunity to work across multiple sites and technologies Clear path to full-time conversion Ideal Candidate Someone who is technically strong but also personable —able to communicate clearly with non-technical users, manage vendors, and take ownership of infrastructure projects from planning through execution. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
