About Karhu Cyber Karhu Cyber is a veteran-owned cybersecurity and managed services firm. We protect and operate the technology that our clients rely on every day, courts, sheriff's offices, registers of deeds, IT departments, and the staff who serve communities across the state. We are hiring a Systems Administrator II based in Marquette to serve as a regional engineer supporting clients across the Upper Peninsula. What You Will Do You will own the day-to-day administration, support, and improvement of client environments. Specific responsibilities will flex based on client need, but generally include: Administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune environments Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and VMware) Operating and maintaining firewall platforms, including rule management, VPN, and segmentation Configuring and supporting MFA across client environments Managing backup and recovery operations Owning tickets end-to-end without routine escalation, and mentoring L1 technicians on process, documentation, and technical depth Working on-site locally on an as-needed basis Documenting everything in a way the next person can actually use Client environments vary, so flexibility and a willingness to learn new platforms quickly matter more than deep expertise in any one product. Who You Are 3 to 5 years of hands-on systems administration experience in a multi-client or multi-environment context (MSP background is a strong plus) Confident across a broad systems stack: identity and endpoint management, Windows Server, virtualization, firewalls, MFA, backup, and EDR Comfortable being the senior technical voice in a room with non-technical stakeholders, including elected officials and department heads You explain your work clearly, you write tickets and runbooks that hold up, and you do not leave loose ends You take ownership and enjoy solving hard problems. Requirements Must pass a CJIS background check. This role works inside criminal justice information environments. Valid driver's license Eligible to work in the U.S. Standard industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft AZ-104 or MS-102, Fortinet NSE, VMware VCP, or equivalent) or a clear track record that demonstrates the equivalent Growth Path From L2 you have clear paths into L3 systems engineering or a specialty track in security operations, cloud, or network. Karhu pays for the certs and training that get you there. Compensation and Benefits $78,000 to $94,000 base, depending on experience and certifications $5,000 per year continuing education and certification budget Health, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) Hybrid schedule with on-site work locally on an as-needed basis
