Qualifications Bachelor¿s Degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university. ; A combination of education and experience will be considered. ; Three years of experience in ;tier one IT support, ;network ;administration ;or systems administration support in google workspace or Microsoft office 365 admin. ; Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, interconnected systems and develop long-term architectural solutions. ; Preferred certifications include Google Workspace Administrator Level 1 and 2,Comp Tia A+ hardware, Network + and/or Microsoft MCP/MTA Responsibilities Lead the strategic migration of ;on-premise ;server ;workloads to cloud-hosted environments (OCI, Azure, AWS) or vendor-managed SaaS solutions. ; Configure and ;maintain ;server hardware, peripherals, storage, and Active Directory structures ;in accordance with ;District operational requirements Upgrade administrative tools and utilities and configure or add new services as necessary to ;maintain ;system health. ; ; Modernize building workflows to new cloud based systems and solutions Proactively research and deploy new cloud features and automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, or Google Apps Script) to ;eliminate ;manual tasks and increase efficiency. ; Act as the escalation point for complex system failures, focusing on ;identifying ;underlying architectural issues rather than temporary workarounds. ; Monitors and Improves District ITSM for incidents and service requests Oversee enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM), ensuring seamless integration between local Active Directory and cloud environments. ; Provide support for Badge Access Hardware and troubleshooting Provides support to facilities and maintenance systems technology systems, programs, and processes Administer ;and support ;devices using ;the district mobile device management ;(MDM) ;platform currently Jamf and Intune Continuously learn and adopt new systems, software, and technical responsibilities as the ;District¿s ;technology roadmap evolves. ; Independently lead technical projects from research and design ;through ;to ;implementation and documentation with minimal supervision. ; Perform daily monitoring, verify backups, and manage hardware/software lifecycles for both physical and virtual servers. ; Work as part of a collaborative team of administrators who ;backup ;and cover each other¿s areas of responsibility to ensure continuous service. ; Assist ;internal and external customers with the implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of systems and applications. ; Supports classroom, desktop and Chromebook devices as needed in district offices and/or school buildings. ; Implement security measures for District systems, in Active Directory, and various operating systems as well as user endpoints. ; Provide second-tier support for District account creation, directory services troubleshooting, and batch processing of user accounts from source systems. ; Review system and application logs daily to verify the successful completion of scheduled jobs, including backups. ; Participate in product research and development of emerging technologies that may be used to enhance or replace existing aging infrastructure. ; Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures. ; Creates, verifies, and/or ;maintains ;documentation ;of assigned information systems including ;installation and configuration procedures. ; Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as ;required. ; Provides exceptional customer service through positive communication and fostering a welcoming environment. ; Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan. ; Participation in systems on-call rotation ; Completes other duties as assigned ; Equal Employment Opportunity The Milwaukee Public Schools does not discriminate in its programs, activities, facilities, employment, or educational opportunities on the basis of a person';s sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or disability.
