We are seeking a highly capable Sr. Systems Administrator to serve as a key member of our organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for the administration, security, and operational support of Silvon's technology environment — focused on Microsoft Windows, Azure, Microsoft 365, identity management, endpoint management, and security management. The Sr. Systems Administrator ensures that all software applications, operating systems, and network components used by the company are up-to-date, secure, and running efficiently to support both Silvon's business operations and cloud-hosted customers. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who works well independently in a diverse computing environment. We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented, roll-your-sleeves-up individual who not only understands the "basics," but can put them into action relative to the implementation and ongoing maintenance of hardware, network, security and general business systems and software. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, with the opportunity to move into a combined on-premise/remote work setting over time. Administer and support Microsoft Windows, Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams Implement security protocols (antivirus, firewall) and manage data backup/recovery procedures using solutions like Microsoft Hyper-Visor servers, Microsoft products (OS, SQL, etc.), Veeam imaging with immutable storage, Local and Entra Active Directory, Watchguard (or similar) firewall and VPN products, General IT infrastructure and network management Implement regular software updates, patches, and security updates to optimize performance and prevent vulnerabilities Monitor system health, security alerts, and service availability; investigate and remediate issues as needed Support onboarding and offboarding processes for users and devices Manage software license compliance and renewals, maintaining accurate records of all software assets Support leadership with cloud initiatives, security improvements, and operational projects Manage Silvon's corporate applications, including Microsoft's Dynamics 365 CRM and Dynamics SL systems, immutable storage connections, SMTP/FTP server configuration and maintenance, and help desk/device monitoring solutions Manage identity, access, and authentication, including MFA, Conditional Access, role-based access control, and identity lifecycle management Support endpoint management as necessary, including device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployment Assist with multi-tenant environments, including cross-tenant access, B2B collaboration 5+ years of experience in systems and cloud administration Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows, Azure and 365 applications Working knowledge of Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and identity security Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and related security measures Familiarity with multi-tenant Microsoft environments, including migrations and cross-tenant collaboration Proficiency in software deployment tools, patch management, and SaaS application administration, including remote user support Experience working in a security-conscious environment Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously Excellent communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+,
Microsoft Certified:
