If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Information Technology Services team at Dakota State University as a Support Services Technician.
Responsibilities :
Provide top-notch Tier 1 Help Desk support to faculty, staff, and students by assisting with software, hardware, and network-related issues. Respond to support inquiries promptly and professionally, delivering excellent customer service through various communication channels (in-person, phone, email, and chat). Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems, utilizing a systematic and logical approach to identify root causes. Resolve issues within the scope of Tier 1 support, escalating complex problems to a supervisor other specialized team when necessary. Guide end-users through step-by-step solutions, ensuring their understanding and empowering them to independently resolve future issues. Maintain accurate and detailed records of support interactions, including issue description, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system. Collaborate effectively with other team members to share knowledge, improve processes, and provide seamless support to end-users. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven experience in a customer support role, preferably in a technical help desk or support center environment. Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues. Familiarity with common operating systems, productivity applications, and hardware (Microsoft, Active Directory, Defender for Endpoint, Apple hardware and software, etc.). Knowledge and understanding of network environments. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users in a clear and concise manner. Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
