Staff Full Time Job Description The Junior Network Administrator works with the Network Administrator to ensure the continued functionality of the universitys phone system, network appliances, and network and assists in engineering, configuration, installation, and administration of those systems and devices. The Junior Network Administrator will assist the Systems Administrator, as needed, to engineer, configure, install, and administer the universitys server environment, related storage, applications, databases, and appliances. The Junior Network Administrator will support and troubleshoot problems pertaining to the universitys phone system and network and assist with problems pertaining to server hardware, server software, storage arrays, appliances, and campus email as needed; assist in the selection and evaluation of products and vendors; assist in handling day-to-day administration of the phone system and network related devices; and assist in handling day-to-day administration of server hardware, server software, storage arrays, appliances, and campus email as needed. Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in information technology or a related field;
  • 3-5 years hardware and software troubleshooting experience;
  • 2-4 years of server troubleshooting experience Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in a related discipline;
  • Advanced technical certification in a technology environment in use by the University (CompTIA Network +, CCNA, or the like).
