Job Description
Overview The Company is seeking a System Administrator with a strong background in Microsoft Azure cloud services and Microsoft Entra to manage and secure our IT infrastructure across multiple on-site locations. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of both on-premises systems and cloud resources. As the System Administrator, you will oversee day-to-day operations and support in a hybrid environment, implement cloud infrastructure and identity management solutions, and report directly to the IT Manager. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can maintain optimal system performance and collaborate effectively with our IT team and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities User Support and Operations:
Provide 1 st and 2nd level helpdesk support to users, support office and site IT operations as necessary, vendor management, and support implementation of IT projects across the company. Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud resources (e.g., virtual machines, storage, virtual networks) to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency. Monitor cloud services usage and performance. Identity & Access Management:
Administer Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) to manage user identities and access control. This includes creating and managing user and group accounts, implementing rolebased access control (RBAC), enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication (MF A), and maintaining identity and security policies across the organization's cloud and on-premises environments. System Administration & Security:
Oversee the day-to-day system administration of servers and networks, including patch management, software updates, and configuration management. Enforce security best practices, monitor system/network security, and respond to security incidents. Ensure compliance with company IT policies and industry standards. Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Continuously monitor system and application performance (both cloud-based and on-premise systems) using appropriate tools. Quickly troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime. Manage system backup processes and perform recovery operations to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Documentation & Collaboration:
Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and task runbooks. Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to knowledge base articles for common issues. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams ( e.g., security, network, development, helpdesk) to support projects, integrate systems, and ensure a consistent and secure IT environment. Required Qualifiactions Minimum of 3years experience in IT systems administration with Microsoft products Certifications:
Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified:
Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) certifications Technical Expertise:
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services administration (provisioning, monitoring, and managing Azure resources such as VMs, storage, networking, etc.). Identity & Security:
Proven experience with Microsoft Entra for identity and access management, including user account provisioning, group and role management, and implementing security measures (MFA, conditional access, etc.). Systems & Networking Knowledge:
Solid understanding of system administration in Windows, including fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN) and security best practices (firewalls, patching, vulnerability management). Troubleshooting & Support:
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across cloud and on-prem systems. Experience providing systems operations support and working with support ticketing systems for incident resolution. Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Collaboration:
Strong team player with strong communication skills, and the ability to clearly document and explain technical processes. Preferred Qualifications:
GIS Platform Experience:
Experience managing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) platforms or related spatial data systems. Database Knowledge:
Experience with SQL database administration, including database operations, backup/recovery procedures, and data storage management Vendor Professional Certifications:
Additional certifications from Cisco, Darktrace, Microsoft, Netsuite, Google, and Amazon is a plus Automation Skills:
Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) to streamline tasks and deployments Audit Experience:
Familiarity with SOX or GRC/GCC procedures and processes Working Conditions:
This position is on-site across multiple company sites, requiring the ability to work at various office. The work is typically performed during standard business hours, with potential occasional after-hours or on-call duties to address urgent system issues or maintenance windows.
