Senior Linux Cloud Engineer - Plano, TX (Onsite/Hybrid)

Telecom / Cloud Infrastructure Contract role: 6 months + Only W2, No C2C candidates We are currently looking for a senior-level Cloud Systems Engineer to support a Linux-based private cloud infrastructure environment for a leading telecom organization. This is a hands-on infrastructure and automation role focused on Linux administration, cloud operations, scripting, monitoring, security, and infrastructure reliability . Looking for someone who is highly hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced production environments. The ideal candidate should have strong Linux troubleshooting skills, cloud infrastructure experience, and a solid background in automation and scripting.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, support, and maintain Linux-based servers and systems Manage private cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization components Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations for stability and reliability Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, system updates, configuration management, and operational tasks Create monitoring and alerting scripts to proactively identify infrastructure issues Perform system patching, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery activities Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls Support infrastructure security and ensure compliance with organizational policies Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and operations teams on cloud and automation initiatives Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Required Skills:
Strong experience with Linux administration (Red Hat / Ubuntu preferred) Experience working with Kubernetes and/or OpenStack environments Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or Perl Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux and cloud infrastructure environments Knowledge of networking protocols, virtualization technologies, and storage systems Experience with monitoring, deployment automation, and infrastructure support Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions
Preferred Skills:
