Job Description:
Systems Engineer Location:
Ft. Belvoir, VA Clearance required: TS/SCI with
CI or FS POLY Shift:
24x7 environment with rotating shifts In this role you will: Have growth opportunities where you can make a difference to a very important mission. Join one of the portfolio's Agile (scrum) teams. Be involved in investigation into ad hoc issues and analyze and resolve complex mission problems.
Responsibilities:
Own enterprise systems end-to-end, from deployment through sustainment Administer and support Linux (primarily RHEL) and Windows Server environments Manage and maintain virtualized infrastructure (VMware-centric) Perform routine and time-sensitive patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation Administer Active Directory and core domain services (DNS, GPO, permissions) Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system and infrastructure issues impacting availability or security Execute and document changes in accordance with compliance and operational standards Produce and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system inventories Communicate system health, risks, and remediation plans clearly to stakeholders Support environments requiring high availability, security controls, and operational discipline
Qualifications:
Security+ or CISSP Certification Hands-on experience administering Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems Experience managing VMware-based virtualized environments Understanding of enterprise infrastructure operations Experience operating in secure or regulated environments (DoD, IC, government, or equivalent) Familiarity with security compliance practices (e.g., STIGs, vulnerability scanning, remediation) Ability to troubleshoot across systems, virtualization, and basic networking layers Comfortable working independently and owning systems without direct oversight Nice to Have Skills (but not required): Scripting or automation (Bash, PowerShell) SCCM, Intune, Satellite, or similar management tooling Basic to intermediate networking experience (routing, switching, DNS, DHCP) Prior work in classified or mission-critical operational environments
Schedule:
Four teams necessary to cover 24/7/365.
Alternating between:
