Job Description

Robert Half Technology is seeking a hands-on Network Administrator to support and maintain a client in the government agency. This role is focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of the organization's network infrastructure through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing administration. The ideal candidate will have strong networking fundamentals, VMware experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM; after hours support as needed) ResponsibilitiesMaintain and support the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

Proactively monitor network health and respond to performance issues, outages, and connectivity problems.

Perform Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting across network, server, and infrastructure components.

Configure, manage, and support switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, firewalls, and related network devices.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to routing, switching, VLANs, network segmentation, TCP/IP, and firewall configurations.

Support VMware vSphere environments, including basic administration, troubleshooting, and configuration assistance.

Assist with server and infrastructure maintenance activities.

Document network changes, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and technical configurations.

Partner with cross-functional teams to communicate technical issues, resolutions, and project updates in a clear and understandable manner.

Participate in infrastructure improvement initiatives and ongoing operational support.
