Regular Job Summary:
Under general direction, coordinates the development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of applicable laboratory information system (LIS) applications and related policies, procedures, strategies and goals.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, implements, maintains and enhances LIS applications. Provides training, consultation and problem-solving assistance. Communicates all LIS changes to the hospital staff. Stays informed regarding changes in software, hardware, and regulatory requirements as they related to the LIS. Develops and maintains policies and procedures associated with the LIS. Provides customer service. Maintains detailed documentation of LIS activities, upgrades, training, problems and their resolution. Acts as a liaison between the laboratory and the IT department. Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and educationEXPERIENCE
Three years' technical experience in a laboratory settingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Frequent keyboard use/data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
