Job Description

Job Title:
Junior Network Administrator Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Administrator to join our team at the Information Technology Operations Center (ITOC), a 24/7 facility dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation and security of critical IT infrastructure. The Network Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing network systems to support continuous operations and mission-critical activities. This role requires expertise in network administration, troubleshooting, and security protocols, along with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Secret Shift:
7:00AM-7:00PM, 3 Days/4
Days Alternating Weeks Location:
  • Primary duty location(s): Kearneysville, WV
  • Remote support as authorized by the customer
Required Qualifications:
  • Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (e.g., routers, switches).
  • Strong knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including availability for shift work.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Networking certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent (required).
  • Experience working with enterprise networks and datacenters.
Key Skills:

  • VLAN Management
  • Routing and Switching (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
  • Network Monitoring Tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
  • Network Security Protocols
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and handle DNS requests.
  • Manage network infrastructure by monitoring performance and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues across the network.
  • Escalate complex network problems to senior technical staff or vendors.
  • Ensure secure and optimized network operations.
  • Maintain network documentation and diagrams for reference and troubleshooting.
  • Identify and address problems related to IP address conflicts and DHCP assignments.

Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
