Information Technology Reports to: Director of Information Technology Job Summary The Enterprise Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, security, and reliability of the College's enterprise systems and cloud collaboration platforms. Duties include installation, configuration, maintenance, security administration, and lifecycle management of cloud-based services, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Entra ID, and security/compliance platforms). Essential Functions ( Employees of the District must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the position as detailed in this section.) Administer Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 enterprise services. Administer SharePoint Online, including governance, permissions, and lifecycle management. Administer Exchange Online, including mail flow, transport rules, shared mailboxes, retention policies, and eDiscovery. Administer Microsoft Teams, including tenant settings, meeting and messaging policies, guest/external access, and governance controls. Administer Microsoft Purview, including retention, classification, audit, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies. Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including identity lifecycle (users, groups, roles), authentication methods, MFA, Conditional Access, privileged access/role assignments, and access reviews; support secure integration with Microsoft 365 and Azure services. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. Contributes to the overall success of information technology services by performing all other essential duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications ( Employees of the District are required to possess a minimum proficiency level of English, both written and spoken, that will enable them to communicate safely, effectively, and efficiently with students, co-workers, and the public.) Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience administering enterprise systems and services (on-premises and cloud), including Microsoft 365 and/or Azure; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to administer, secure, and troubleshoot core enterprise services such as identity and access management, messaging/collaboration platforms, and systems monitoring/documentation. Possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license. Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and/or be on-call, as needed, to support scheduled maintenance, system upgrades, and emergency incident response. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience automating administrative tasks using PowerShell and/or Python, including Microsoft 365 and Azure automation. Experience administering Windows Server and core identity services (Active Directory/Azure AD/Entra ID), including group policy, authentication, and access control concepts. Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview (retention, eDiscovery, DLP, audit). Support FERPA, GLBA, and state privacy compliance through secure configuration. Competencies forSuccessful Performance Knowledge of:
Enterprise systems administration principles, including identity and access management, least privilege, and secure configuration. Administration and security concepts for Microsoft 365/Azure services (e.g., Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams) and related compliance practices (audit, retention, eDiscovery, DLP).Ability to:
Troubleshoot complex technical issues using structured diagnostics, logs, and vendor documentation to restore service quickly and safely. Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks (operations, projects, incidents) while meeting service levels and deadlines. Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including writing procedures, incident summaries, and change plans. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to applicable privacy and security requirements. Follow incident and change management practices to implement changes safely, document outcomes, and reduce recurrence. Demonstrate respect for and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
