Job Description

Description:
To manage and operate the sites administrative and educational computer and distance delivery technology components.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED. 2. One year of computer and/or distance delivery technology experience required or the successful completion of the Network Technician Apprenticeship Program. 3. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computer networks, hardware, and software. 4. Experience working with electronic mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software required. 5. Willing and able to receive training on distance delivery technology required. 6. Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment. 7. Ability to travel by small airplane is required. 8. Ability to carry out successfully the duties listed below.
Duties:
1. Assist students and staff with resolving technology-related issues. 2. Coordinate and/or provide in-service training of site employees in the implementation of the district's e-mail. 3. Assist in the installation and maintenance of the local area network and related network components, including backup battery systems. 4. Maintain the proper functioning, cleanliness, and accounting of technology components, including laptops, iPads, desktops, displays, projectors, and phone systems. 5. Be the site distance delivery manager and manage the site distance delivery equipment. 6. Assist with troubleshooting site e-mail issues. 7. Train and cross-train in software designated as the district-wide standardized applications. 8. Install and maintain updates to site software applications. 9. Collect and maintain manuals, spare cables, and technology components. 10. Clean and perform minor maintenance on the site's copiers and printers. 11. Escalate issues to district TAI staff as needed. 12. Other duties as assigned.
