Job Description

IT Peripheral Prep Technician, Information Technology The IT Peripheral Prep Technician is primarily responsible for prepping peripheral equipment to be installed in dental offices and repairing non-functioning equipment. This may include installations, repairs, upgrades and maintenance to hardware and software. The position will report to IT Distribution Management. Heartland Dental is the nation's largest dental support organization, providing non-clinical administrative support services to more than 3,000 supported doctors across 39 states and the District of Columbia in 1,900+ dental offices. Each Heartland Dental supported office is unique to the community and the patients they serve. Supported doctors are the clinical leaders of their practice, retain full clinical autonomy, and establish their own care philosophies. All Heartland Dental supported doctors are united by a common goal: delivering the highest quality dental care and patient experiences. Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role: Prep peripheral devices such as switches, printers, NAS boxes, iPads and SiriusXM radios by completing necessary software installation and setting changes. Receive returns and repairs from supported dental offices and reconcile with receiving ticketing system Troubleshoot and repair returned equipment to place back in to department inventory Partner within prep team and Dental Office service desk to complete prep work in a timely manner Manage multiple prep projects at one time and meet deadlines for repairs and shipment of equipment Other projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of one of the following: three years of IT experience OR a degree in an IT related field Practical knowledge of computer and network concepts Ability to physically lift 70 lbs Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate frequently with different departments and stakeholders Ability to interact with co-workers in a collegial manner to accomplish common tasks High level of maturity, personal initiative, and sound judgment
