Core Values Courage Curiosity Compassion Creativity Position Purpose The Technology Support Specialist is a year-round position responsible for providing technical support to students, faculty, staff, and parents. Reporting to the Director of Technology, this role supports the school's hardware, software, network, and audiovisual systems while contributing to the overall technology vision of the school.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and on-site assistance as needed for faculty, staff, students, and parents Via face-to-face, phone, email, and online Use software to create, track, and document IT issues Will diagnose and troubleshoot the resolution of technology and AV related issues Assist in maintaining, configuring, and upgrading the school's hardware, software, and/or network infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to: Configure, install, organize and maintain school laptops, tablets, desktops, chromebooks, phones, printers, copiers, A/V related equipment, etc. Research and provide solutions to existing problems and submit new ideas for growth opportunities Pulling and running data cable when needed Update and maintain the school's inventory of hardware and software Coordinate regular hardware and software audits to ensure copyright/licensing compliance Coordinate retirement of old hardware (e.g. recycling of old devices) Manage cybersecurity phishing training and awareness campaigns including MFA and password security Participate in regularly scheduled status/planning meetings with the technology personnel of the school (engage with the technology team to plan, implement, and support the school's technology vision) Provide AV assistance with classroom, conference room and speaker presentation systems Work closely with Help Desk Coordinator to ensure timely support and the Technology Integrators to ensure the needs of the faculty and students are addressed in the classroom Proactively seeks out continuous improvement and growth opportunities in technical expertise. Ability to work night and weekend hours is essential to perform tasks outside the normal school day Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology Qualification Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Experience:
1-3 years' experience in technology support or similar role. Experience within an academic environment is preferred. Required Qualifications High level of integrity Ability to work well with others and support a wide range of user skill levels A strong blend of customer service, device support, and leadership skills Ability to work on and complete multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision Willingness to continually take initiative to learn new technologies and stay on the cutting edge of supporting best practices Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with students, parents, faculty and staff Professionalism with and amongst all constituencies Strong technology skills: CompTIA A+ and/or Net+ certification preferred but not required OR willingness to obtain these or similar certifications Understanding of various computer hardware and software, including PC's, Mac's, tablets, and smartphones A strong understanding of online systems Basic understanding of network topology is preferred but not required Must be proficient in core technological competencies including Microsoft Office products Ability to push heavy carts up to 150 pounds and must be able to lift 25 pounds Willingness to engage in all aspects of the Park Tudor community while promoting and supporting the mission statement and core values How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume and email the document to .
