Network Technician (Telecom)

Description Support network connectivity and infrastructure by managing jack activations, switch port coordination, and physical patching in wiring closets. Ensure readiness and reliability of telecom services during critical events such as EPIC Go-Live Skills Cabling, vlan, port activation, Patch panel, cable management, network switch, Troubleshooting, Infrastructure, network closet

Responsibilities Include:

• Respond promptly and efficiently to jack activation requests from project team
• Coordinate with project team to validate location and connectivity requirements
• Submit and track switch port requests with the Netcom Team
• Ensure timely provisioning of ports to meet project timelines
• Patch designated switch ports to corresponding jacks in wiring closets
• Maintain accurate documentation of patching activities and port assignments
• Perform jack testing post-patching to verify network connectivity and performance
• Use appropriate tools to validate link speed, signal strength, and port activity
• Investigate and resolve jack-related issues including no connectivity, intermittent signal, or incorrect patching
• Collaborate with Netcom and other technical teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
• Be available and responsive during EPIC Go-Live event to provide immediate telecom support Act as the point of contact for telecom-related escalations during Go-Live Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hyattsville, MD.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
