VTC Technician GDIT is looking for a VTC Technician who holds DOE Q or TS for a full-time position, located in Los Alamos GDIT will provide NNSA (National Nuclear Security Administration) customers worldwide with Video Conferencing support consisting of Self-Help Knowledge Portals, remote Service Desk resolution support, and in-field customer engagement support. GDIT will be the first point of contact for IT problem resolutions to help to increase user satisfaction, reduce resolution time, and consolidate and standardize remote and in-field customer support. Position description This position will be responsible for installing, fixing, and troubleshooting a wide variety of video display equipment to include cameras, microphones, audio and video display components. Provide standard operating procedures describing how to access and use video display systems. Maintains and enhances customer services by organizing and evaluating service and delivery systems, and procedures. Works with other team members to promote a high morale environment that is fun and fast-paced. The right candidate works well within a team. Collaboration, constructive criticism, and peer review are key components of the group dynamic. Essential job functionsPromotes a positive and respectful workplaceHandles customer escalations and works as a liaison with government/client officialsPossesses current working knowledge of VTC/AV components, equipment, and collaboration software (MS Teams).Support Video Conferencing Services that provide NNSA End-Users with video conference capabilities. Services include the planning and assessment, implementation, training, and ongoing management necessary to implement Video Conferencing Service. Configures, operates, and troubleshoots all audio/video equipment used in the execution of VTC's, and MS Teams meetings.

Collaborating with clients to determine AV needs before an eventProvide technical assistance to users of VTC equipment, train end users on the proper use of hardware and software.

Proactively check ticket queue for new emails and create and assign tickets for those emails.

Ensure that tickets are actively being worked on and updated, and that no tickets are unassigned.

Escalate tickets as needed.

Ensure all tickets worked include the problem, the solution, the end user, initiation and completion time, and end user satisfaction. The resolution shall be in sufficient detail to allow another support technician, not familiar with the problem, sufficient information to resolve the same or similar problem without extensively researching the issue again.

Preparing accurate documentation to support and maintain a working knowledge base of VTC processes including pertinent guidelines, regulations, compliance issues, and documentation requirements as well as reference only application reference guides as instructed by team lead.

Document, maintain, and store specific information, including as-built diagrams and SOPs/Job Aides.

Identifies areas of opportunity to improve customer satisfaction.

The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system and as such, works in close collaboration with the ISSM and ISO. The position shall have the detailed knowledge and expertise required to manage the security aspects of an information system and, in many organizations, is assigned responsibility for the day-to-day security operations of a system. This also will include physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness. It will be required to work in close coordination with the ISSM and ISO in monitoring the information system(s) and its environment of operation to include developing and updating the authorization documentation, implementing configuration management across authorization boundaries. This will include assessing the security impact of those changes and making recommendation to the ISSM. The primary function is working within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Military Compartments efforts. The position will provide "day-to-day" support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.
Performance shall include:
  • Develop physical or logical topologies for a system
  • Assist the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and update authorization packages
  • Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media
  • Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package
  • Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change
  • Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly
  • Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
  • Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies)
  • Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties
  • Execute the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, to include provide security coordination and review of all system assessment plans
  • Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of the countermeasures for them
  • Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems
  • Perform ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers
Experience:
  • 2+ years related experience, Related experience especially in developing RMF packages or body of evidence

  • $119,600.

Job Summary:
  • Responsible for daily management of MS Teams based VTC and Conference Room systems
  • Resolve problems and configure rooms to meet requirements for scheduled conferences.
  • Operate and troubleshoot VTC and conference room equipment, initiating trouble tickets for external support when needed.
  • Perform routine performance testing to ensure VTC equipment operates at optimal performance and capacity.
  • Support the installation of new or upgrades of existing VTC systems
  • Serve as a Tier 2+ technician, handling uncommon incidents or requests outside the standard scope.
  • Support VTC and Presentation Conferences, verifying functionality, assisting with setup, and troubleshooting during conferences.
  • Perform spot checks of equipment to verify functionality on a scheduled basis.
  • Troubleshoot Codec hardware, network, VLAN, software configurations, and inter-device connections.
  • Respond to and resolve trouble tickets within the required Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Provide user training and mentor junior VTC technicians.
  • Maintain an accurate and complete government asset inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
