Equipment Tech/Clerk

BASIC FUNCTION
Support the delivery and availability of equipment by assembling and maintaining equipment, updating equipment status in the barcode circulation system, coordinate the transfer of equipment, orders equipment and processes incoming equipment.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Process incoming freight, transfers, donations and returns, including unpacking, assembly, tagging, loan forms, calling therapists and coordinating transportation and follow-up paperwork. Perform minor repair work including but not limited to cleaning, replacing parts, and using small power tools to adjust and align equipment. Input equipment data into computer using barcode circulation sv.stem. Keep information updated regularly Coordinate transfer of regional equipment between schools in (4) county region, including EI/ECSE programs, and home and hospital sites. Monitor and track equipment to minimize lost inventory. Coordinate annual inventory. Assist therapists regarding the availability of orthopedic equipment. Provide information on the capability of equipment options. Order equipment, checking quotes and vendor information for the best possible price. Researches repair options and profitability for damaged equipment or missing/broken accessories.EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Knowledge of :
Computer literacy, typing and writing skills. Familiarity with vocabulary and terminology 9f orthopedics and equipment. Organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to : Operate small hand and power tools including but not limited to wrenches, drills, and soldering iron.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or G.E.D. Five (5) or more years of experience building equipment, assembling materials, and/or updating data by using computer and barcoding systems. Working in special education environment can be substituted for some or all of the experience when knowledge and skills for position can be provided. Some positions in this classification may require the use of a personal automobile and possession of a valid Class C Oregon driver's license. Any other combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered.Hourly Rate :
