Job Summary:
The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for providing level one technical support for all technology needs concerning repair, diagnostics, installation, and maintenance of all mobile devices and computer hardware, software, and peripherals at their assigned school building for all employees and students. The incumbent works with other members of the technology team in meeting department goals/objectives and collaborates closely with administrators, counselors, and faculty to promote a safe, organized, and supportive school environment. This position demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills while upholding the district's mission and commitment to a safe, supportive learning environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Repairs technology equipment. Provides level one technical support, and technical customer assistance for their assigned school building employees and students. Primary student helpdesk support for their Campus. Incumbent will troubleshoot /resolve computer related issues for all students and staff at their campus. Provides district-wide desktop support to include repair of desktop computers and laptops, troubleshooting software and hardware, cleaning of computers, installing of software and hardware updates and escalates issues that they are unable to resolve to other members within the technology department. Provides level one support for all applications, audio/visual equipment, VOIP telephone and print management equipment. Working with the IT Admin Assistant, incumbent maintains district-wide inventory of technology equipment and provides recommendations for computer replacements to the Director of Technology based upon established equipment life cycles. Orients employees and students in the proper use and operation of technology equipment. Trains & creates user guides for employees in proper utilization of technology. Effectively communicates status of technical issues to affected individuals, technology team, and supervisor as appropriate. Coordinates vendor maintenance to computer equipment. Assists the district level 2 and level 3 district technology support staff in resolving issues and assists with their projects. Provides A/V backup support for district/school related activities after school hours on an as-needed basis. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Must possess valid PA driver's license Must be knowledgeable in MS Windows, Chrome and IOS operating systems, Office 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory, and computer management tools Associate's degree (A.A.) in computer science, other technical degrees, or current industry (CompTIA/Microsoft) certifications 3 years of computer technology experience, preferably in a school district or education setting. Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the PA School Code) Submission of the following clearances: PA State Criminal History Record (Act 34 & Act 114) PA Dept. of Public Welfare Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151 & Act 114) Federal (FBI) Background Check (Act 24) Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
