TITLE Information Systems Technician- IT Infrastructure
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Beaufort Memorial, a not-for-profit hospital founded in 1944 on the banks of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, is licensed for 201 beds (169 acute, 14 rehabilitation and 18 mental health). We are an acute-care hospital, a regional referral center and the largest medical facility between Savannah, Ga., and Charleston, S.C. DESCRIPTION
The Information Systems Technician provides first response telephone support for all end users on a wide variety of hardware, network, software and server issues. When unable to resolve, refers caller to appropriate IS staff member. Documents customer trouble reports in help desk database system and contacts customers to clarify request and ensures all necessary information is included. Support users at all BMH facilities. Assists with remote sites and physician offices in planning, troubleshooting, testing, training and understanding PC based software, and Meditech, as well as assisting assigned departments with their information needs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associate Degree in computer-related field or equivalent experience. Broad knowledge of PC hardware and peripherals, and various software packages, i.e. Microsoft Office and MS Windows. Knowledge of basic network administration functions.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of related experience, requiring broad knowledge of computer hardware and software. Demonstrated ability to effectively explain technical procedures and to troubleshoot technical problems. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
