Job Description

The primary job duties of the Tier 1 Technology Support Specialist is to deliver and install technology across district sites. This includes but is not limited to computers, printers, tablets, media streaming devices and other technology equipment. This position will ensure that technology installation processes are followed, and old equipment is properly disposed of in a manner to limit disruption to the classroom as much as possible. Strong customer service skills are required. Additionally, this position is responsible for working with the IT warehouse and recycling team members. The Tier 1 Technology Support Specialist will be responsible for working with the IT warehouse to prepare, and deploy equipment delivered to the ITSC. This position will help maintain an accurate inventory of technology, and work with school district staff to schedule and deploy equipment in an efficient manner. There will also be opportunities to assist other departments as needed with other projects.

Provide technical support to users throughout the district when required and escalate issues to other teams to ensure timely service. Help ITSC Warehouse staff maintain an accurate inventory of district assets stored in the warehouse as well as with any equipment deployed or installed. Deliver and install new technology including mobile devices, computers, printers, scanners, and audio/visual equipment. Operate various delivery vehicles, lift gates etc. ensuring equipment is secured to prevent loss and damage in transit and during delivery. Work with hardware repair technicians and Tier 2 Technology Support Specialists in transporting time sensitive equipment that has been damaged and/or repaired to and from the Technology building. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Ensure proper processes are followed when delivering and installing technology equipment, both through the setup of new devices and disposal of surplus equipment. Work with ITSC Leadership and teams to accomplish both large quantity, major seasonal projects, and multi-site equipment deployment goals. Assist in covering service desk phones during times of high volume and/or additional coverage is needed. Other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two or more years of successful college or trade school education in the information technology field. Equivalent work experience may be substituted. Troubleshooting skills in both the computer software and hardware (desktop, laptop, and mobile device) area. Experience with Windows operating systems. Ability to properly prioritize tasks. Must be eligible to drive district vehicles. Must be able to work as a member of a team in a positive and professional manner. Ability to effectively communicate with users at all levels. Able to lift fifty pounds. Ability to work hours other than 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overtime, including evenings and weekends may be required. Access to personal transportation and possess a valid driver's license required. Provide Exceptional Customer Service and Maintain a positive work environment with other IT and school district staff. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, teachers, parents, and administrators while maintaining confidentiality. Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Work experience in a school environment is beneficial. Experience supporting technology in a help desk environment. Experience in remotely troubleshooting software and hardware issues over the phone and e-mail A+ Certification. Experience in a Windows network environment. Knowledge of database structures and use for MS Excel and database management systems. Experience with directory systems and computer software management solutions such as Active Directory, Azure, SCCM and Intune. Experience with O365 applications. Experience supporting mobile device platforms for use in classrooms. (Such as iOS, Android, Windows).
