Product Owner RJW Logistics Group - 2.6 Romeoville, IL Job Details 2 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description The Operational Product Owner is responsible for the day-to-day execution, performance, stabilization, and continuous improvement of one or more operational products, systems, or platforms. Working under the direction of Warehouse Operations Leadership, this role executes on the strategy set for each product and ensures that deployed solutions perform as designed in the field. They serve as the bridge between product design and real world execution; ensuring systems, processes, and tools are adopted effectively, perform reliably, and evolve based on operational needs. This role supports operational excellence by executing defined priorities, surfacing issues early, and holding vendors and cross-functional partners accountable to agreed scope and quality. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of operational expertise and systems knowledge and is comfortable running with direction. They ask smart questions, raise concerns early when something isn't working, and have the backbone to push back on vendors, operations leaders, and internal teams when needed — while still executing on the direction set by leadership. They will be accountable for delivering measurable outcomes in productivity, accuracy, and user adoption. This position plays a critical role and requires experience in operations, systems utilization, change management, and continuous improvement within fast-paced, high-volume environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performing in-person requirement gathering sessions to obtain information from the warehouse operations staff at each of RJW's Retail Fulfillment Facilities to evaluate business processes and uncover areas for improvement. Conducting meetings to present findings from observations and meetings with the warehouse operations to expose inconsistency or areas for improvement. Documenting all business processes and changes to business processes Converting business requirements into functional requirements Completing assigned tasks on time and to the quality standard set by operations management and leadership. Participating in vendor demos and working sessions, asking clarifying questions, and flagging gaps or risks that could impact operations. Assisting in discovery meetings for IT projects to understand business use cases and requirements. Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management. Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements. Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures Assist in solution trainings, launches, and post-launch support. Perform basic data analysis where applicable and necessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Support the day-to-day operational performance of assigned products or systems, ensuring they deliver expected business outcomes and service levels. Raise concerns early and ask clarifying questions when scope, quality, or operational fit is unclear — including pushing back on vendors, internal teams, or senior stakeholders when something isn't working as intended. Partner with business leaders, operations teams, and IT/product development to align product capabilities with real-world execution needs and evolving business priorities. Act as the primary point of contact for operational users, gathering feedback, identifying pain points, and translating them into actionable improvements and enhancements. Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities within workflows, systems, and processes implementing solutions that enhance throughput, accuracy, and productivity. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), using data to evaluate system effectiveness, identify trends, and prioritize optimization efforts. Support post-implementation stabilization efforts, helping drive adoption of new systems, processes, or enhancements while minimizing operational disruption. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective system utilization across teams. Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize and coordinate system enhancements, ensuring alignment with operational impact and business value. Serve as a change agent by driving adoption of new tools and processes, supporting training efforts, and reinforcing accountability across the organization. Ensure system integrity and data accuracy by establishing governance processes, monitoring usage, and addressing compliance gaps. Support incident management and issue resolution, working with technical teams to quickly diagnose, escalate, and resolve system-related challenges impacting operations. Education and Experience Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any related field required SQL knowledge is a plus Experience with Visio is preferred. Knowledge of software development life cycle is a plus. Experience in Warehousing or Logistics is preferred. Experience with Synapse or similar WMS software is preferred.
