Senior Associate, Product Management- Data-as-a-Service Position Summary:
We're seeking a Product Management Senior Associate to support the Data-as-a-Service team in advancing athenaOne through cloud-native, scalable, and secure database services. This role will partner with senior business and product leaders to help enable engineering teams to build great applications faster while supporting a thriving ecosystem for accessible, high-quality, sustainable healthcare. About the
Team:
The Data-as-a-Service team powers the databases behind the latest athenaOne features across EHR, RCM, and patient engagement solutions. As athenaOne grows into specialty workflows, value-based care, extended revenue cycle management, and the athenahealth Marketplace, this team is helping transform how athenahealth builds and runs products and services. The team partners closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and Cloud Engineering & Operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Product strategy and execution Partner with product leadership to understand end-user needs and leadership goals. Prioritize the roadmap for your product area and help define product direction. Contribute to the development of business cases and product vision. Ensure features meet business requirements and drive delivery from concept through launch. Cross-functional collaboration Work closely with engineering to deliver high-quality, high-impact features. Partner with product operations and client-facing teams to support rollout and adoption. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions and geographies. Serve as a trusted partner who can align teams around shared goals and tradeoffs. Product ownership and delivery Act as Product Owner for assigned workstreams. Write user stories, manage backlog priorities, and make scope/schedule tradeoff decisions. Support scrum teams through day-to-day delivery and execution. Help ensure the product is delivered with a strong focus on outcomes. Problem solving and innovation Use data to drive decisions and guide product improvements. Identify opportunities to solve complex business problems through technology. Approach challenges with a customer-centric and solution-oriented mindset. Contribute to a team culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Expected Education & Experienc e : Bachelor's degree required; a degree in healthcare, business, computer science, or engineering is preferred. 2-5 years of overall professional experience, with focus on working across cross-functional stakeholder groups. Understanding of product management best practices, including agile development environments, preferred. Understanding of healthcare / health IT, preferred. Understanding of cloud computing platforms, especially AWS, preferred. Demonstrated success using analytical and quantitative skills to drive innovation. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Passion for improving healthcare with empathy for users. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with energy and enthusiasm for solving unknowns. Appreciation for the software development process and diverse cross-functional perspectives. Confident presenter to all audiences. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate risks or conflicts. Comfortable with infrequent travel for site visits, conferences, and trainings. Why This Role Matters This role helps strengthen the foundations of athenaOne by enabling faster, more secure, and more scalable product development. The work directly supports engineering productivity, product delivery, and better healthcare outcomes for customers and patients. Expected Compensation $102,000 - $174,000 The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
