This is a 6 month contract to hire and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (ie H1B, OPT, CPT, etc) do not meet Client requirements for this opening. Location - Hybrid in Hartford CT preferred but remote candidates are acceptable Seeking a hands-on Agile Product Owner to support Global Specialty business insurance initiatives. This role serves as the business liaison between underwriting, actuarial, operations, and IT teams to define work, manage Agile delivery, and support new product development and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as Agile Product Owner for Global Specialty business product initiatives. Partner with underwriting, actuarial, operations, BAs, and IT to define scope and delivery priorities. Write features and work with BAs to break work into user stories and acceptance criteria. Manage backlog readiness, prioritization, dependencies, and Agile team delivery. Support daily standups, PI Planning, sprint planning, reviews, demos, and stakeholder readouts. Partner with Scrum Masters, RTEs, tech leads, developers, testers, and business teams. Support implementation, change management, and post-implementation activities. Required Skills /
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on Agile Product Owner / Agile Product Management experience. Strong backlog management, feature writing, user story, PI Planning, demo, and sprint review experience. Insurance industry experience required, preferably business insurance / P&C. Exposure to underwriting, actuarial, operations, pricing, rating, or rater tools strongly preferred. Strong communication and presentation skills; able to explain business value and align stakeholders. Rally experience preferred; strong MS Office skills required, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with underwriting tools, pricing/rating tools, or insurance product enhancements. SAFe Agile experience. Agile Product Owner certification. Global Specialty, commercial insurance, excess insurance, or related business insurance experience.
