We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Technical Product Owner- Common Information Model to lead the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology solutions that support grid reliability, planning, and operations. This role is instrumental in advancing VELCO's enterprise-wide network model and establishing a trusted "single source of truth" for critical operational and planning data. How you will make an impact As the Technical Product Owner- Common Information Model, you will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions are delivered in alignment with organizational priorities. You will partner closely with the project team developing VELCO's enterprise network model and enabling tools based on the Common Information Model (CIM). In collaboration with teams across Energy Management Systems (EMS), Planning, Engineering, and IT, you will help shape the future of how data is governed, integrated, and leveraged across the organization.

Advance enterprise data integration and interoperability Improve operational reliability and decision-making Enable long-term scalability and sustainable adoption of technology solutions Drive collaboration across technical and operational teams Deliver meaningful business value through data-informed capabilities Responsibilities The Technical Product Owner- CIM provides leadership in product strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement. This role is critical to advancing capabilities that enable VELCO to make data-informed decisions through a unified, enterprise-wide network model—establishing a trusted "single source of truth" for grid reliability, planning, and operations. Serving as a bridge between business needs and technical execution, the Technical Owner ensures delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with organizational priorities. This role partners closely with the project team responsible for developing the enterprise model and enabling tools based on the Common Information Model (CIM). It also collaborates with stakeholders across Energy Management Systems (EMS), Planning, Engineering, and IT to ensure business requirements are effectively prioritized, validated, and delivered through a phased, sustainable approach that supports long-term value and adoption. Develop and own the CIM product roadmap, aligning it with VELCO's business priorities, data governance and standard operating procedures. Initiate and lead cross-functional collaboration to define, prioritize, and deliver requirements into secure and compliant application capabilities and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Manage vendor relationships and streamline system upgrades and ongoing maintenance with support from IT. Prioritize and manage product backlog and requests, balancing needs, technical debt and regulatory requirements to deliver releases. Apply project governance and risk management practices in partnership with IT PMO for product lifecycle oversight. Use analytics to monitor product performance and availability along with user adoption. Ensure product interoperability and data integrity with VELCO's enterprise data environment. Establish and monitor metrics to monitor and communicate business value and tool reliability and availability. Who you are Education & Training Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience A minimum of 5 years' experience in product ownership, product management, or related IT roles Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product lifecycle management Experience working with enterprise data systems, integrations, and analytics platforms Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions Preferred Qualifications Experience in utilities, energy, or grid operations environments Familiarity with network modeling tools (e.g., Siemens, Emerson, Enterprise Architect, CIMSpy), GIS, or asset management systems Experience working with ISO-NE, NYISO, or FERC regulatory frameworks Technical background in software development, data engineering, or systems architecture Knowledge/Skills Strategic thinking and product vision Strong communication and stakeholder management Technical acumen and data-driven mindset Problem-solving and decision-making Leadership and collaboration Work Environment Collaborative, cross-functional team environment Open office setting and dog friendly Opportunity to work closely with engineering, IT, and operations Mission-driven organization supporting critical energy infrastructure Physical/Mental Demands Prolonged periods of working on a computer. Must be able to maintain fast pace while completing complex, analytical work, in potentially stressful situations, with competing priorities, within tight timelines and with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work additional hours when necessary.
