Position Overview:
Ignite is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead and facilitate an Agile software development effort supporting the Air Force at Gunter Annex near Maxwell AFB, AL. This position is integral to driving successful delivery of high-quality software solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. As a Scrum Master, you will work closely with the development team, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure that Agile principles and practices are effectively implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary facilitator for the Agile software development team, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and practices. Plan, schedule, and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Remove impediments and roadblocks to support the development team in meeting their commitments. Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure the backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with Air Force mission objectives. Monitor team progress using Agile metrics and provide regular reporting to stakeholders on team performance and sprint outcomes. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture. Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile best practices to continuously improve team performance and efficiency. Work closely with Air Force stakeholders to ensure alignment between project deliverables and mission needs.
Job Requirements Required:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment. Demonstrated expertise in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving team engagement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar. Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Secret security clearance.
Preferred:
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Air Force software development efforts. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification. Familiarity with DoD Agile frameworks and processes, such as SAFe for Government or DoD DevSecOps practices. Understanding of Air Force mission priorities and operational requirements.
