Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Scrum Master with Technical Business Analyst skills to support a Data Engineering delivery team. This role bridges business requirements, technical delivery, and Agile execution, ensuring high-quality data products are delivered efficiently and aligned to business outcomes. The pay rate for this role ranges based on years of experience between $50-60/hour. Key Responsibilities - Scrum Master
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments and support predictable delivery.
  • Coach teams on Agile practices tailored for data engineering.
  • Partner with Product Owners on backlog prioritization and refinement. Key Responsibilities - Technical Business Analysis
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for data engineering initiatives.
  • Translate requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and data specifications.
  • Support data ingestion, transformation, governance, and analytics requirements.
  • Maintain traceability between business outcomes and delivered solutions. Stakeholder & Delivery Management
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Support delivery planning, dependency management, and reporting.

  • Hands-on Scrum Master experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience as a Technical Business Analyst on data engineering projects.
  • Experience writing technical user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Certified Scrum Master.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT, data platforms, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent)
  • Experience working in financial services or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of data governance or metadata tools (e.g. Collibra, Purview)
  • Experience supporting large-scale migrations or platform modernization initiatives
  • Cloud data platforms Azure
  • Data tools such as Databricks, ADF, Synapse, Snowflake, Kafka (or equivalents)
  • SQL and data modelling concepts
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices for data pipelines
  • Comfortable operating in a dual role (delivery facilitation and technical analysis)
  • Outcome focused and pragmatic
  • Able to work across ambiguity and complex data landscapes
  • Collaborative, proactive, and delivery driven
