Scrum Master Location:
Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid) We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join a high-performing technology team supporting retail and eCommerce platforms. This is a 12-month contract, hybrid role based in Grand Rapids. The ideal candidate brings strong Agile leadership experience, the ability to coach teams to high performance, and a background delivering technology solutions in retail or digital commerce environments. Role Overview The Scrum Master is responsible for driving Agile delivery, enabling team effectiveness, and ensuring the successful delivery of working software. You will facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, manage project risks and status reporting, and support production releases to ensure smooth and timely deployments. This role blends servant leadership with traditional project management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Coach and guide Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software and meet sprint commitments Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives Partner with Product Owners to translate requirements into actionable work Track progress, manage risks/issues, and report project status to stakeholders Remove blockers and resolve team conflicts to maintain productivity Support SAFe / scaled agile practices and ensure teams follow Agile standards Coordinate release planning and production deployments Balance business and technical priorities in collaboration with product and engineering teams Promote continuous improvement and guard against technical debt Limit external disruptions so teams can stay focused on delivery Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field 5+ years of overall IT experience 3+ years of hands-on Scrum Master experience Experience supporting retail or eCommerce technology platforms Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery practices Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Preferred Experience Background in inventory, order management, or digital commerce systems Experience with application development and integration teams Familiarity with Node.js, Java, Cassandra, Kafka environments SAFe certification (SSM, SASM, SA, SPC, or SPMPO) PMP, CSM, or other Agile certifications Proficiency with MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word; ServiceNow a plus Equal Employment Opportunity Eight Eleven Group provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, citizenship, disability, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, amnesty or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
