Senior Software Engineer | AI Healthcare Platform Startup San Francisco, CA (Onsite) | High-growth startup | Mission-driven We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build the core systems behind a fast-scaling AI healthcare platform. This is a hands-on role where you'll directly shape production systems that improve patient outcomes and modernise healthcare delivery in the US. From day one, you'll have real ownership, rapid iteration cycles, and the ability to take ideas from concept ? production in days, not months. Your work will directly contribute to improving real patient mobility and health outcomes You'll ship fast - often moving from idea to production in hours or days You'll join a high-calibre team of engineers and AI researchers where every hire meaningfully raises the bar You'll operate in a low-bureaucracy environment where ownership and trust matter more than process What you'll work on You'll be building the backbone of a high-performance AI system, including: Architecting and scaling distributed backend systems that power AI-driven healthcare workflows Designing resilient, serverless architectures using TypeScript and AWS TypeScript Amazon Web Services Building developer-friendly APIs and SDKs used across internal and external platforms Developing high-throughput data pipelines that enable clinical-grade AI insights Optimising systems for performance, reliability, and scale in production What we're looking for Technical experience Strong experience with AWS and TypeScript backend development Proven track record building scalable backend systems for real-time or AI-driven products Experience designing APIs and developer SDKs Strong understanding of distributed systems, performance, and fault tolerance Experience working with high-volume data processing pipelines Mindset & behaviours Product-minded engineer who focuses on real-world user impact Clear communicator who can challenge assumptions and improve technical direction Collaborative, but comfortable pushing back when needed Strong bias for execution and shipping Motivated by building technology that has tangible impact in healthcare Culture Ownership over process Speed over bureaucracy Clarity over fluff Impact over noise You'll have full responsibility for what you build - from architecture through to production.
