About American Bright LED For over 30 years, American Bright Optoelectronics Corporation has been a leading global supplier of LED components, display modules, drivers, and custom lighting solutions. Founded in 1995 in Brea, California, and headquartered in Chino, California since 2002, we've grown into a vertically integrated manufacturer trusted by OEMs worldwide. Our products power virtually every industry — aerospace, automotive and EV charging, medical, horticulture, industrial automation, consumer electronics, and general lighting. We work hand-in-hand with our manufacturing facilities in China and Taiwan to deliver everything from standard LED components to fully custom PCB assemblies. Our North American team is small — about 15 to 20 employees — which means the work you do here actually moves the needle. You won't be a small cog in a big machine; you'll be a key technical voice between our customers and our overseas factories, and your decisions will shape real product outcomes. About the Role We're looking for a motivated Applications Engineer to join our Chino office. This is a hybrid technical and customer-facing role that combines applications engineering with customer engagement and sales support. You'll be the technical bridge between U.S. customers, our internal sales and engineering teams, and our overseas factory partners. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers and recent graduates who want hands-on industry experience that combines deep technical work with real customer interaction, travel, and exposure to global manufacturing. Responsibilities Engineering & Technical Support Provide technical applications support for electronic components and systems Assist customers with product selection, specifications, and basic troubleshooting Serve as a technical liaison between customers and overseas factory engineers Coordinate sample evaluations, engineering feedback, and design support with overseas teams Communicate application requirements, technical issues, and solutions clearly between customers and factories Support board-level assembly and system-level integration as needed Maintain clear technical documentation and application notes Customer Engagement & Sales Support Conduct on-site customer visits (with or without sales representatives) to understand applications and recommend solutions (all business travel fully covered, including mileage and gas reimbursement) Support customers via virtual meetings (Teams, Zoom) and email correspondence Represent American Bright LED at trade shows and industry events Work collaboratively with our sales and engineering teams to win and grow accounts Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or Chemistry Solid technical foundation with strong problem-solving skills Bilingual communication skills in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) preferred, for effective coordination with overseas factories Willingness and ability to travel domestically (and occasionally to Canada) multiple times per year Strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude Comfortable with customer-facing communication — both in-person and virtual Familiarity with the following is preferred: LED products and applications LCD modules Power supplies Board-level assembly and basic electronics testing Experience 2+ years of related experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$70,000 - $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications Year-end bonus tied to company and personal performance — the more revenue you help bring in, the larger the reward, with corresponding salary growth over time Medical and dental insurance 401(k) with profit sharing
