MICROSOFT ACCESS DEVELOPER / BUSINESS SYSTEMS COORDINATOR

Contract Position Summary Commercial Cooling / PAR Engineering, Inc., a Southern California manufacturer of walk-in coolers, freezers, and insulated panel systems since 1967, is seeking a Microsoft Access Developer / Business Systems Coordinator to support, enhance, and expand our existing Microsoft Access database and internal business systems. This position will play a key role in improving company operations by developing and maintaining tools that support estimating, quoting, customer management, reporting, purchasing, production, and other operational functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Access development and enjoy working directly with department managers to identify opportunities for process improvement, workflow automation, and business system enhancements. Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain, update, and enhance the company's existing Microsoft Access database
  • Develop and improve forms, reports, dashboards, and user interfaces
  • Design, develop, and implement an internal quote and proposal management system utilizing existing company data within Microsoft Access
  • Create tools to improve estimating, pricing, customer management, proposal tracking, and operational reporting
  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, Accounting, and Management to identify operational needs and develop practical solutions
  • Develop reports and dashboards that provide meaningful business insights and improve decision-making
  • Assist with workflow automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the system
  • Create and maintain documentation for system functionality and procedures
  • Support future integration opportunities with other business systems and software platforms Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Access development experience
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and database design
  • Experience with VBA programming within Microsoft Access
  • Experience creating forms, reports, queries, and automated workflows
  • Ability to analyze business processes and develop practical solutions
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, construction, engineering, or industrial businesses is preferred Preferred Experience
  • Microsoft Access database administration
  • SQL Server knowledge
  • Business reporting and dashboard development
  • Estimating, quoting, purchasing, inventory, or production systems
  • Workflow automation and process improvement initiatives Key Project Focus One of the primary objectives of this position will be the continued development of Commercial Cooling's internal quote and proposal management system utilizing the company's existing Microsoft Access platform and historical database.
The successful candidate will help transform existing operational data into a more efficient and scalable system that supports estimating, proposal generation, customer management, reporting, and future operational growth while leveraging the company's current infrastructure and investment. Compensation
  • $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability
  • Independent Contractor position
  • This is a project-based contract role and not a full-time employee position
