Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon's Radar Digital Product Line (RDPL) team in Fullerton, California, is growing! We are hiring Senior Software Engineer to work onsite.
What You Will Do:
Use prior experience in radar domain to work on cutting-edge technology solutions and further experience into Software Architecture role within same domain. Collaborate with Scrum teams to design, develop, and maintain embedded C++ software for tactical radar systems in a DevSecOps environment. Troubleshoot hard-to-reproduce software integration issues using Jenkins logs and debugging tools. Execute Software Integration Testing (SWIT) and drive root-cause analysis for system-level defects. Develop scripts (Python, Bash, or Perl) to automate testing pipelines, log analysis, and system integration tasks. Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, technical planning, and architectural decisions.
Travel:
Optional CONUS travel to sites up to 15%.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND 5 years of prior relevant experience. Experience in supporting radar systems using C++. Experience in data structures, algorithms, and system software design. Experience with Linux development environments and DevSecOps tools (Jenkins, Jira, Git). Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Advanced knowledge of radar systems and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms. Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and visualization of test runs. Experience with Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman) for build and test environments. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash) for automation and testing. Strong problem-solving skills and a self-motivated approach to debugging and fixing complex software issues. Ability to provide technical leadership for a small software development team. Demonstrated potential and desire to explore new technologies and grow into a Software Architect role.
