Job Description:

Are you a seasoned Mainframe Systems Programmer / DBA with strong experience in ADABAS, IMS, DB2, and CICS? We're hiring for a highly impactful role supporting large-scale, mission-critical systems in a public sector environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex legacy systems, drive database modernization efforts, and play a key role in maintaining high-availability infrastructure. What You'll Do Lead and support installation, configuration, and upgrades of core database systems (IMS, DB2, ADABAS) Manage and maintain mainframe database environments on IBM z/OS Perform database design (logical & physical) and capacity planning Monitor and optimize database performance, storage, and availability Develop and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies Conduct system health checks, tuning, and troubleshooting Collaborate with application development teams (COBOL/NATURAL) on design and performance improvements Perform evaluations and implement enhancements for DBMS tools and environments Support production systems and ensure stability in high-transaction environments

Security What We're Looking For 7+ years of experience as a Systems Programmer / DBA in mainframe environments At least 3 years in a lead or senior technical role Strong expertise in legacy database systems and performance tuning Experience supporting large, complex enterprise or government systems Ability to work cross-functionally with development and operations teams Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
