As a key member of the team, you will design, develop and iterate on agentic solutions that solve key internal workstreams built on data from various data sources, including deployed fleets, internal applications, and other data warehouses. Your work will accelerate how we gather insights, contribute to our understanding of key business performance indicators, inform data-driven decisions to optimize our strategies, and drive business growth. You will be responsible for leading the development of agentic efforts to identify and resolve fleet-wide performance, operation, and maintenance challenges across our growing fleet of energy products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Industrial Energy, Residential Energy, and Solar Product and Service Engineering, to maximize the product health of our fleet. What You'll Do Architect and deploy multimodal agentic systems using LLMs to create next-generation automation tools that can be leveraged by both internal and external teams Build high-availability systems and take ownership of critical infrastructure, driving continuous improvements in reliability, latency, and security Develop and test quick prototypes to validate concepts, create beta launches, collect feedback and iterate on optimal solutions before scaling up Proactively identify and lead product optimizations and enhancements, while refining backend APIs to scale with product demand and align with IAM best practices Drive adoption of large language model solutions and machine learning algorithms for optimizing how we make sense of telemetry and internal fleet data Research and incorporate emerging language model updates, infrastructures, tools, and technologies, especially pertaining to agentic AI Help shape the product roadmap and scaling strategy in partnership with engineering and forward-deployed resources What You'll Bring Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience Have built or deployed systems powered by LLMs or generative models and understand how model behavior affects product experience Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and scalability principles, including strategies for component reuse and separation of concerns Deep knowledge of transformer-based LLMs, tokenization, embeddings, context management, evals and prompt engineering Experience of API design and microservice architecture (Kubernetes/Docker/Message Queues/Redis) Demonstrated experience deploying and scaling production-grade agentic solutions with modern AI frameworks (RAG, agent orchestration, GenAI SDKs, etc.) Proven ability to evaluate and optimize LLM usage for downstream tasks Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $120,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
