Mechanical Applications Engineer Employment Type:
Direct hire position Summary Applications Engineer is the primary technical resource for the field sales force and are responsible for actively driving and managing the sale process of the technology evaluation. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Applications Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales and product realization process. The Applications Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with sales team, supplier and customer throughout the sales cycle. The pay is $80,000 -$120,000 annually based on experience.Responsibilities Primary:
Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application. Articulate technologies and product applications to both business and technical counterparts. Respond to functional and technical elements of RFQs. Listen, understand and convey customer requirements and supplier's capability to related parties. Perform technical/ product training for sales people, estimators, quality engineers and management. Assist in the design and development of new products and tools necessary to capture new business. Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases. Possible to travel to project sites to preform start-up, installation, assembling and training services. Utilize exceptional writing, editing skills by means of exercising proficiency at an intermediate level with various computer software. Knowledge of ISO 9001, incoming inspection, QC and QA tools, micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc. High attention to detail and accuracy. Have problem analysis and problem-solving skills. Create CAD drawings to support engineering, production, quality assurance and sales. Perform FEA on mechanical components and assembliesAdditional:
Maintain professional business relationships within customers. Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects. Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.Qualifications Required:
BS in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent with successful experience in a similar manufacturing industry. 5-20+ year experience in mechanical and electrical engineering. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Proficient in AutoCAD. Read mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of basic mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge. A solid understanding of network communications technology - Internet, Intranet, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, etc. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
