The Growth, Commerce & Identity (GCI) organization is dedicated to three business-critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. The Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEE&T) Growth, Commerce and Identity Client Engineering organization delivers experiences across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ built on a common platform and shared technology. Our mission:

You will serve as a high level technical resource and "go-to" person, solving sophisticated technical challenges and finding opportunities to improve systems, products, and services!
  • Responsibilities
  • + Develop software & infrastructure that powers the Roku commerce and identity experience + Contribute to code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and technical investigations. + Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to build features on Disney+, Hulu and Star+ Partner with UX to transform mock-ups into engaging, accessible web experiences
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • + 3+ years professional experience developing large, well-tested Roku applications + Excellent front-end debugging skills + Outstanding verbal and written communication skills + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • + Proficiency in client-side scripting languages such as JavaScript or Python; experience with BrightScript and SceneGraph is a plus.
+ Experience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) + Experience working with Agile methodologies + Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $120,300 to $161,300 per year and in San Francisco, CA is $128,700 to $172,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
